Carol June Stover is a Chicago author and Surviving 26th Street is her second novel, a work  of literary fiction dealing with timeless dilemmas:

A clash of cultures, a tough time to be a woman, and finding the strength to overcome—these are the dilemmas facing Laura Justice in the 1950’s. Her husband has moved their Memphis family North to strike it rich, but that doesn’t happen. His NYC advertising agency fails and he becomes depressed and combative, heaping chaos upon his family, drastically effecting nine-year-old daughter Jane. Laura’s dilemma: Can she muster strength to restore her family and tame her husband….or does she want to?
